Bats Trading, an innovative and technology-leading U.S. market center, promotes Jessi Kingsbury to chief financial officer.
Ms. Kingsbury, a founding employee of BATS, was previously controller. As CFO, she continues to be responsible for all financial functions at the firm, including financial planning and financial reporting.
"We're proud to promote Jessi, who has built an outstanding and reliable financial accounting system for BATS, from the ground up," BATS Chief Executive Joe Ratterman said. "BATS takes great pride in the efficiency of its financial processes, which run so well because of the outstanding work ethic and attention to detail Jessi and her team employ."
Prior to BATS, Ms. Kingsbury was controller at Tradebot Systems, where she was also an equities trader. Previously, she was responsible for various financial functions at Diversified Management Services Inc., Overland Park, Kan.
Ms. Kingsbury graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis on finance and minor in economics. She earned National Dean's List honors all four years at UMKC.
BATS, which filed for exchange status in November 2007 and successfully completed the formal public comment period, is awaiting approval from the Securities and Exchange Commission so it can begin operations as a national securities exchange in 2008.
