Ralf Herklotz has been named as head of sales for Equiduct Trading in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland with immediate effect.

He is a specialist with considerable international experience in the fields of technology and marketing. The sales office for the German-speaking countries will be in Frankfurt-Main, and Ralf Herklotz will be in charge of the newly opened office. This completes the sales networks in the most important European countries. Equiduct Trading now has regional sales offices in Paris, London, and Frankfurt. The head office of Equiduct Trading is in Berlin.

Ralf Herklotz has held leading positions in London, Paris, and New York in the course of his career, including a period with LIFFE in London. At the leading European derivative exchange he was managing director for business development, with responsibility for the development of the electronic trading system Liffe Connect for Equity Options and for the strategic planning of the transformation of Liffe into an electronic exchange. As chief technology officer at EMETRA in London, Ralf Herklotz developed an electronic commodity exchange. Since 2001, he has been working as a freelance financial services consultant.

Ralf Herklotz is looking forward to the new challenge: "The European financial markets will change considerably in the coming years following the introduction of MiFID. Equiduct Trading has a unique market model which opens up new fields of business for many institutions and will lead to more cost-effective trading, to the benefit of all the participants. My task is to introduce this market model successfully in Germany and to explain to market participants the advantages it has to offer."

Artur Fischer, Joint CEO of Equiduct Trading, sees this as an ideal set-up: "Promoting the Equiduct Trading market model in the German-speaking countries was just as important for us as our sales activities in France and Great Britain. The appointment of Ralf Herklotz means that we can now begin actively to respond to the existing interest in our range of services in Germany."
