IA Systems, an Open Solutions business unit and a provider of lending software and services to financial institutions, announced that Unitus Community Credit Union, Gesa Credit Union and Kitsap Credit Union have selected StreamLend Velocity to fulfill their need for a state-of-the-art, paperless, end-to-end innovative loan origination system.

Open Solutions Inc. is a leading provider of integrated enabling technologies for financial services providers across the United States, Canada and other international markets.

IA Systems has developed technology to streamline business operations for credit unions, banks and other financial institutions since 1991. Its flagship product, StreamLend Velocity, is a paperless, Web-based loan origination system that speeds credit and loan decisioning, integrates sales channels and manages risk for financial institutions. StreamLend Velocity was carefully chosen by each of the credit unions to further enhance automation and accelerate the lending process.

Kitsap Credit Union was established in 1934 and is headquartered in Bremerton, Wash. It has assets of $672 million. Today, Kitsap Credit Union provides its members a full complement of financial products and services through a network of branch locations in Kitsap, Mason and Pierce Counties; global online and ATM access; and a full-service contact center. Membership eligibility is open to people who live and work in Washington State.

Melinda Anthony, vice president of Consumer Lending for Kitsap Credit Union, explained the reason Kitsap decided to migrate to StreamLend Velocity was based on the system's added functionality, such as the new forms solution, the ability to set rates in advance and added audit detail.

"StreamLend Velocity's Web-based browser allows for cleaner navigation for the user and provides better flexibility within the forms," Anthony added. "StreamLend Velocity will solve many problems for us. IA Systems' support staff has also been great."

As one of the oldest credit unions in Oregon, Unitus Community Credit Union serves more than 65,000 members with a wide range of products and services designed to save people money and time. It has $760 million in assets and seven branches.

Paul Kirkbride, vice president of Credit Services for Unitus Credit Union cites the solutions' robustness of the underwriting engine, the superior workflow -- when compared to other LOS systems -- and the ability to configure the system to their own specifications as factors for their selection of Open Solutions IA Systems. "Additionally, we were very impressed with the people -- knowledgeable and straightforward," he said.

"The system will drastically improve our efficiency, aid in cross-selling and help us to better serve our members through enhanced system integration," Kirkbride explained. "Open Solutions IA Systems understands that not all lenders are alike. StreamLend Velocity allows us to configure the system, making our processes far more efficient."

With assets exceeding $642 million and based in Richland, Wash, Gesa Credit Union is proud of its 50-year history and the financial services it has brought to the Tri-Cities. Since 1953, Gesa has made more than $2 billion in loans and now serves 80,000 members.

According to Brett Jorgenson, vice president of Lending for Gesa CU, "It was our desire to move to a Web-based solution to enhance processing time and incorporate many new features that are not currently available to us," he explained. "StreamLend Velocity has expanded capabilities of integration with third-party vendors and more user-defined fields."

Jorgenson also explained that StreamLend Velocity was the answer to what the credit union was looking for in a state-of-the-art loan origination system. "StreamLend Velocity provides expanded capacity for risked-based pricing, open architecture for product offerings and robust cross-selling features that are not currently available," he said. "We are in the process of expanding our indirect lending relationships and StreamLend Velocity also has expansive sales channel integration with DealerTrack, RouteOne and CUDL."

"I have developed an excellent relationship with IA Systems over the past five years," Jorgenson continued. "Their support staff and implementation team have the expertise and experience to ensure a successful implementation. Once the implementation is complete, they provide the ongoing support for their products."

"We are very glad to partner with Unitus, Gesa and Kitsap credit unions," David Van Pelt, general manager, IA Systems Group, said. "These credit unions are regarded as reliable and key providers to their members. By implementing our best-of-breed loan origination solution, they will be able to offer their members even more products and services."
