Front Capital Systems, an operating unit of SunGard (NYSE:SDS), today announced a distribution agreement with NIWS Co., Ltd. to offer FRONT ARENA's treasury trading and back-office solution to regional banks in Japan.

Under a sub-licensing agreement, NIWS will market the system as the NIWS STP trading solution, underscoring that it delivers straight-through-processing from trade capture through to settlements and regulatory reporting. NIWS has developed the local requirements and will manage distribution as well as provide local customer support.

"NIWS has a well established business providing banking solutions in Japan, "said Simon Woods, managing director of Front Capital Systems in Asia Pacific. "FRONT ARENA together with the Japanese localization and regulatory reporting functionality will provide a turnkey package to the regional banks to help meet the increasing regulatory demands in Japan. This partnership allows us to service a larger customer base across Japan."

The solution provides trade capture for foreign exchange, money markets, fixed income, including Japanese government bonds, and derivatives. User Interfaces are in Japanese.

"Together we provide strong local knowledge and a proven global solution that caters for effective treasury and cash management", said Yukio Sakamoto, managing director at NIWS.
