Entrust (NASDAQ:ENTU) and Acxiom Corporation (NASDAQ:ACXM), leaders in the authentication market, have signed an agreement for joint sales and marketing of an integrated consumer verification and authentication solution.
Acxiom is now an Entrust TrustedPartner and will resell Entrust's risk- based authentication solution that includes multifactor authentication, fraud detection and transaction-monitoring capabilities. Acxiom also will join Entrust's Open Fraud Intelligence Network (OFIN), which consolidates and shares key fraud behavior patterns and data among network participants to help fight online fraud. Entrust will integrate Acxiom's real-time consumer verification capabilities with its portfolio and jointly sell the solution with Acxiom.

Acxiom will resell Entrust IdentityGuard, an award-winning versatile authentication platform that provides one of the widest ranges of multifactor authentication capabilities on the market today. It enables organizations to more effectively protect end-users from fraud by tailoring authentication strength to the risk of a given transaction. The company will also resell Entrust TransactionGuard, which is a fraud detection solution that identifies potentially suspicious online behavior and potentially high-risk activities. When deployed together, the products comprise Entrust's proven risk-based authentication solution.
Entrust will offer Acxiom's FactCheck-X Authenticate - a real-time consumer verification solution - to help organizations authenticate new customers and verify the legitimacy of their identities. It will enable Entrust customers to provide identification confirmation to reduce fraud losses and maintain regulatory compliance while concurrently maximizing profitability.
This customer-requested capability serves as yet another component of Entrust's layered security model and will help complement the Entrust IdentityGuard versatile authentication platform.

Acxiom's identification platform uses demographic and geographic data in challenge questions with nearly 900 data elements for more than 300 million individuals. In addition, Acxiom utilizes more than 25 U.S. and international watch lists as part of its identification services. More than 700 million records have recently been added to Acxiom's risk-management database, which has greatly improved the products' effectiveness.
Entrust IdentityGuard enables organizations to layer security -- according to access requirements or the risk of a given transaction - across diverse users and applications. The platform's authentication options include username and password, IP-geolocation, machine/device, questions and answers, out-of-band one-time passcode (delivered via voice, SMS or e-mail), grid cards and a range of one-time-passcode tokens - priced as low as $5 each. Entrust IdentityGuard also provides multiple methods of supporting mutual authentication, including picture and caption replay.
Entrust TransactionGuard is a zero-touch, software-based monitoring tool that searches for fraudulent behavior and access patterns, without ever changing the end application. It rapidly translates massive volumes of data streams generated by transactional Web sites into intelligible information about customer behavior. The solution examines the information and compares it to established rules, then leverages a sophisticated analytics engine to detect access information (geolocation data and device information), behavioral patterns, and transaction sizes and types that do not fit typical patterns and could signify fraud.
