Panopticon Software, the leading provider of Visual Business Intelligence software, today announced that it has released four new solutions that solve practical problems for financial services companies.

These solutions may be customized as needed based on the specific business requirements of the client organization:
  • Trade Monitoring. This solution gives managers in buy-side or sell-side organizations the tools they need to quickly identify anomalies and track order activity. This approach makes it possible for users to see a global view of trading activities on a single screen, understand exactly the status of their orders, and see how well each trade is performing. Managers can monitor trading information based on a variety of attributes, including broker, trading strategy, country, and industry.
  • Portfolio Attribution & Risk. This solution allows managers to view performance, risk and attribution figures from all funds under management right down to the constituent level of a single portfolio. The user can visualize fund and constituent performance across time, highlighting trends of under and over performance together with differentiation into short term and longer term correlations. The system supports linking of multiple datasets to provide a complete view of fund returns as well as the catalysts that drive fund performance.
  • Risk Analytics. This solution allows large sell-side firms to more effectively monitor market risk, identifying trends, correlations and outliers in critical risk parameters, including exposure, Value at Risk (VaR) and capital adequacy requirements. The solution works well in complex, hierarchical environments and allows managers to visualize industry and rating breakdowns for division, office, desk and book, down to the level of individual instruments.
  • Algo Trading. This solution provides traders and managers with an intuitive graphical view of their active trading strategies. They can easily see and understand the firm's aggregated risk exposures as well as the performance results for each strategy. The system accepts real-time updates from internal and external data sources.
Robeert Ekström, Panopticon's CEO, said, "We know from our many years of experience in working directly with some of the largest banks and asset managers in the world how important it is to define solutions that address practical problems. We've developed these solutions as examples of how our Visual Business Intelligence tools can add value to proprietary systems within institutions as well as for the companies that provide enterprise software to the financial services community."

The company offers several deployment options for these new solutions. Panopticon Developer is a complete Software Developer's Kit (SDK) that allows client organizations and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to embed visualization technology into their own business applications. Panopticon Explorer is a Windows desktop product; Panopticon Enterprise is a server-based system (available for Java or .NET) supporting thin-client and zero footprint HTML clients. Explorer and Enterprise are available as "white label" products that may be integrated with other applications to produce complete systems equipped with Visual Business Intelligence capabilities.
