CNQ talks up Pure Trading volumes

Canadian Trading and Quotation System has announced that its Pure Trading marketplace has surpassed its previous records for share volume executed, and number of trades. On Thursday, Pure Trading executed 12,457 trades, involving over 6.1 million shares. Previous records were 11,156 trades, and 5.054 million shares respectively.

Trading in the shares of BCE Inc. was particularly heavy on Thursday and closed at $38.62 with over 3 million shares being executed in the Pure Trading system. This total represents more than 10% of the share volume in BCE executed on Canadian exchanges for the day. Pure Trading typically accounts for more than 5% of the combined daily trading activity in over 20 different securities.
