Tsys Acquiring Solutions names David Wood COO

TSYS Acquiring Solutions today announced that it has appointed David E. Wood, a seasoned payments industry veteran, as chief operating officer.

David will be responsible for all TSYS Acquiring Solutions business operations and will report to Robert J. Philbin, president of TSYS Acquiring Solutions.

"Strengthening our core business and achieving operational excellence are strategic priorities for TSYS Acquiring Solutions," said Philbin. "David's proven industry expertise in multiple operational environments combined with his strong leadership capabilities will enable him to make significant contributions to our company. We are very pleased to welcome him to the TSYS Acquiring Solutions team."

Wood served as a senior executive with Bank of America for the past 15 years and was most recently responsible for its BA Merchant Services operations in Louisville, Ky. BA Merchant Services was recently ranked as the second largest merchant acquirer in the United States.

Prior to Wood's long-term tenure with Bank of America, he held management positions in operations with Bank One. Wood has built his career on values such as improving customer experience, lowering operating costs and growing revenues.

His strong devotion to community includes service with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, United Way and the National Conference for Community and Justice. Wood holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Hardin Simmons University.
