Bluegarden has entered into an agreement with EDB Business Partner for the supply of IT operating services for the company's activities in Norway.

Bluegarden will in turn take over responsibility for payroll processing for EDB's employees in Norway. Both agreements run for five years, and represent total contract value of NOK 115 million and NOK 40 million respectively.

"Bluegarden is a new and very exciting customer for EDB, and we look forward to starting our collaboration", comments Endre Rangnes, CEO of EDB, who goes on to add "At the same time, we look forward to using Bluegarden's solutions for payroll and HR, and expect that these solutions will deliver both improvements and efficiency gains for our HR work."

"EDB is a major new customer for Bluegarden, and we will do our utmost to ensure that this IT group is satisfied with our solutions and services. In terms of the agreement for IT operating services, it was very important for us to choose a supplier with the expertise and ability to understand the changing needs of our business. We have found a good partner for Bluegarden in EDB", explains Ole Morten Settevik, CEO of Bluegarden Norway.

IT platform for future growth
EDB will be responsible for IT operations for Bluegarden's activities in Norway. This will include supplying EDB's office support platform, EDB Skala, to 200 users at four locations. The services to be provided by EDB will give Bluegarden new IT infrastructure and operating services for its production platform, using both Windows/Linux and mainframe services. This will also include managing around 20 applications, Service Desk/user support for all employees and ServiceDesk for Bluegarden's customers at times when the company's own ServiceDesk is closed.

EDB Skala will give Bluegarden's employees access to a new office support platform with excellent reliability and a high degree of mobility. The platform is designed to handle the level of future growth that Bluegarden expects, ensuring that the company is well placed to manage the level of service that it offers its customers. Bluegarden will also have access to reliable solutions for separate development, test and production environments, ensuring well-managed and more rapid migration between these environments.

Payroll and HR
The agreement on payroll and HR services involves Bluegarden AS taking on responsibility for payroll services for EDB's employees in Norway. This will involve the business transfer of the payroll functions at EDB Business Partner ASA's companies in Norway to Bluegarden. In addition, the agreement includes services for HR Outsourcing and implementation of Bluegarden's personnel portal for EDB in Norway. The agreement also includes an option to extend the services to other EDB companies.

Digital self-service for employees
All EDB employees in Norway will now use Bluegarden's web-based personnel portal known as WebWorld. This is a self-service solution and requires that both line managers and employees play a more active role in personnel tasks. This in turn means that the HR function can focus on becoming an important contributor to the group's business processes.
