Platform Computing has announced the formation of a Financial Services Business Unit and the promotion of Jim Mancuso as its General Manager.

The global leader in High Performance Computing (HPC) management software has just completed a year of record revenue and saw strong growth in Financial Services, where revenues doubled year over year. To build on the momentum and capitalize on opportunities in Financial Services, the company created a unit dedicated to this specialized market sector. With consistent strong growth across all major geographies including North America, Europe and Asia, Financial Services continues to be a global driver for Platform. Platform's Financial Services Business Unit will be based in New York City.

As General Manager, Financial Services, Mr. Mancuso will oversee Platform's Financial Services business strategy including market direction and product definition with full P&L responsibility. He will report directly to Platform's CEO Songnian Zhou. Mr. Mancuso previously served as Platform's Financial Services Vice President of North American Sales, where he led a team of specialists dedicated to providing personalized services and support to Platform's Financial Services customers. Prior to joining Platform, Mr. Mancuso was a senior executive at CorrectNet where he was responsible for a tenfold increase in revenue, transforming the company into a dominant technology vendor in the alternative investments industry.

"I am excited and honored to accept the position of General Manager, Financial Services," said Jim Mancuso, General Manager, Financial Services, Platform Computing. "In the last year, Platform has continued to expand its customer base, meeting the demand for increased speed and higher utilization of compute resources required by Financial Services organizations. I look forward to delivering innovative solutions and continuing to position Platform as a leader and innovator in Financial Services."

"I am pleased to announce the establishment of Platform's Financial Services Business Unit and would like to congratulate Jim on his promotion as its General Manager," said Songnian Zhou, CEO, Platform Computing. "Enterprise grid has proven itself as an enabling technology for Financial Services organizations to pursue new growth opportunities, to better quantify their business risks and increase utilization of their IT resources. Platform expects to continue leading the market."
