Direct Edge market maker data available on Bloomberg

Direct Edge ECN announced today that its data is now available on Bloomberg's Market Maker Activity page, which can be found at MKAC <GO> on the Bloomberg Professional service.

MKAC identifies which market makers are handling the most volume for block and non-block trades for a selected security and displays the percentage of trading volume by each market maker for a selected NASDAQ security over a given period. Direct Edge subscribers are now able to provide their EDGA and EDGX volume to Bloomberg to be aggregated with volume executed in other marketplaces.

"As Direct Edge's volume grows, our customers are becoming more interested in receiving recognition for their order flow," said Bryan Harkins, Head of Sales and Strategy for Direct Edge. "For our customers who want anonymity, we will continue to provide it. But for those customers who want analysts, investors, and issuers to recognize the liquidity they're providing, it is important that we report their data to Bloomberg."

"Bloomberg's Market Maker page, MKAC, provides the marketplace with a snapshot of market maker activity in a fragmented market," Harkins continued. "With volume data from Direct Edge now included on Bloomberg, our customers can maintain their name recognition while continuing to use Direct Edge for its competitive pricing and its range of innovative products."
