Goldleaf Financial Solutions (NASDAQ:GFSI), a provider of integrated technology-based solutions designed to improve the performance of financial institutions, today announced that Eastman, Georgia-based Bank of Eastman selected Goldleaf's net.check suite of imaging solutions.
Prior to using net.check, the bank's item capture was centralized, and all checks had to be transported to a central location for capture and archiving, which was labor intensive. With several branches and opportunity for growth, Bank of Eastman wanted to streamline operational efficiency and began looking for technology that would enable the bank to electronically deposit and receive imaged cash letters from the Federal Reserve Bank. The bank had presentations from several vendors, and ultimately selected Goldleaf Financial Solutions. According to the bank's Data Processing Department Head and Information Security Officer, Tracey Graham, the decision was easy - not only was the Goldleaf solution superior, but the bank already had a relationship with Goldleaf and had been using the company's ACH solution for several years.
"Bank of Eastman has always been committed to providing exceptional customer service," Graham said. "No longer having to sort checks and paper files, our employees have more time to focus on our customers, while leveraging technology that improves operational efficiency and increases profitability by eliminating courier and paper shipping fees. As we expected from our existing relationship with Goldleaf, the integration was very smooth, and in fact, our employees were trained within a day. Many aspects of this solution were attractive to the bank, but within four months of implementing net.check, the bank is already seeing significant benefits in time and cost savings as well as improved workflow processes."
Bank executives also cited Goldleaf's Data Retention Center as a major factor in their selection process. Check images are large files, as it's a significant amount of data that needs to be backed up. Goldleaf removes the burden from the bank, as it transmits the images throughout the day to its data retention facility for backup and disaster recovery purposes. Additionally, this gives the banks immediate access to images, also ensuring they are in compliance.
Todd Shiver, EVP of Goldleaf Financial Solutions, said, "By implementing the net.check imaging suite, Bank of Eastman can provide the highest level of customer service while optimizing Check 21 legislation and improving overall operational efficiencies. The ability to gain market share in today's competitive industry is crucial, and the net.check platform gives the Bank of Eastman a clear advantage by freeing up time and resources that can be redirected to its customers."
