This new platform enables Transcard payroll card members, a majority of which have text-enabled cell phones, to access full account activity and functions via their cell phones.

Transcard Mobile includes a new, updated, WAP-enabled Transcard website, and cardholders will have the ability to conduct account balance inquiries, receive text alerts for balances, confirm transactions, and transfer funds securely all on the card holder's cell phone. In addition to offering a short code, cardholders can call into a dynamic VRU switch that interacts with their mobile phones as another method for controlling the specific activities to their account.

Additionally, Transcard announces the unveiling of Electronic Payroll Stubs, an innovative process that distributes electronic wage statements and payroll updates via SMS text technology. Although Transcard has offered electronic wage statements via the web for some time, this is the first payroll stub product available by cell phone.

Craig Fuller, CEO of Transcard, stated, "As the payroll card industry grows in terms of cardholders, so do the expectations of that loyal cardholder base. With advancements in the realm of SMS messaging and electronic statements, Transcard can truly support a paperless society and aim to save an estimated 205,000 trees a year that contribute to the production of payroll stubs that are never opened. Our mobile initiative will achieve two goals - eliminate waste involved with cutting paper stubs, and reinforce Transcard's commitment to an eco-friendly environment."

In conjunction with the Transcard Mobile Initiative, Transcard announced the establishment of a revamped website to offer a friendly environment for card-holders that allows them to interact with their cell phones, establish account alerts, download reports, and track expenses.
