Charles River Development (Charles River), an award-winning provider of financial software and services to the global investment management community, today announced that Telstra Super Pty Ltd (Telstra Super), Australia's largest corporate superannuation fund, is live on the Charles River Investment Management System (Charles River IMS) for automated portfolio management, trading and compliance monitoring of its in-house Australian Equities, Futures and Options operations.

Since its founding in 1990, Telstra Super has undergone many innovative changes to attract and better serve investors. The Charles River IMS implementation, which was delivered on-time and on-budget, enables Telstra Super to more effectively manage its in-house portfolios and gives scope to accommodate greater volumes and more asset classes in the future. Charles River's single, integrated platform gives Telstra Super users extensive portfolio management tools, streamlined trade order management, and real-time pre-trade compliance testing and monitoring. In addition, Charles River created seamless interfaces with third-party providers, including automated trade notifications between brokers and custodians.

"Telstra Super is known for its investment management expertise and Charles River IMS allows us to focus on what we do best," said Steve Merlicek, Chief Investment Officer, Telstra Super Pty Ltd. "Charles River's on-site experts understood our business and operational needs and delivered as promised. We required flexibility to respond quickly to market changes and attract increased assets and deliver greater alpha to end users. Charles River IMS gives us the technology and control to do this - helping us to grow our in-house investment capabilities while reducing our risks and operating costs."

"Charles River is seeing more and more Super Funds taking direct control of their investments," said Cameron Field, Managing Director, Asia-Pacific, Charles River Development. "While enhanced competitiveness and better returns are obvious benefits, the transition must be carefully orchestrated. We help clients like Telstra Super manage the increased responsibilities of in-house management by streamlining operations, providing a holistic view across portfolios and ensuring enterprise-wide compliance with regulatory and client mandates."
