StreamBase Systems, a leading provider of high-performance complex event processing (CEP) software, today announced the expansion of its sales team with the addition of Mark Bannon as vice president of Americas sales and Paul Grossman as vice president of EMEA sales.

The hiring of both seasoned professionals was driven by increased demand for StreamBase's CEP technology and the accompanying need for additional sales-management resources.

Chris Risley, Chief Executive Officer, StreamBase, said "StreamBase continues to see significant global growth, particularly within capital markets. As a result, the need for strong, capable senior leadership has grown. The addition of Mark Bannon and Paul Grossman to the StreamBase management team is vital in meeting this need. With impressive backgrounds in national and international sales development, Mark and Paul bring with them the ability to address the increasing demand for StreamBase's complex event processing solutions in capital markets."

Bannon's career includes more than twenty-five years of proven success in domestic and international sales; technical services management; marketing; operations; and channel and business development. He is also an expert at building and managing cross-functional teams that deliver high-ticket software solutions encompassing a wide range of technologies. Bannon has significantly grown revenues in a variety of successful public and privately-held companies including Syntrex Systems, Banyan Systems, Cayman Systems, Big Sky Technologies and Ultimus. Recently, he served as vice-president of worldwide sales for Phonetic Systems, a leading provider of voice-enabled search solutions to the Fortune 500 and telco markets. He also directed the go-to-market strategy for Phonetic Systems from its commercial launch in 1998 until its successful acquisition by Nuance Communications in 2005. Bannon attended American International College and is an honors graduate with a BS in Business Administration.

Grossman is responsible for sales and go-to-market strategies in Europe, Middle East and Africa. He joins StreamBase with more than 17 years of experience in leading and growing international sales operations for enterprise software companies and has held senior sales and management positions at Cryoserver, Clearswift, JDA Software, Brio Technology, and Comshare. Most recently, Grossman was at early-stage compliance vendor Cryoserver, first as Sales Director and then as a board member, where he led a nearly three-fold increase in revenues in less than two years and secured two rounds of funding. At JDA Software, Grossman served as Vice President and Managing Director for EMEA, and under his leadership the company's Analytic Solutions Group increased sales by more than 300 percent in less than three years. Grossman holds a degree in Computer Science from Manchester University.
