VASCO Data Security International, Inc. (Nasdaq: VDSI), the leading software security company specializing in authentication products, today announced that Swedbank has signed a two-year contract with VASCO.
Swedbank will secure over 1.25 million retail customers in Sweden and the Baltic States with VASCO's Digipass 260 and Digipass 300 Comfort.
Swedbank's retail customers use VASCO's Digipass for challenge/response at user identification and digital signatures. Digipass 260 is a PIN-protected and versatile client authenticator that can be used anywhere and anytime. In order to offer its visually impaired the same level of security as the rest of its customer base, Swedbank has opted for Digipass 300 Comfort, a desk-model Digipass with a large lcd-screen and larger buttons. Digipass 300 Comfort and Digipass 260 share the same functionalities, including e-signature.
Swedbank is the leading bank in Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, offering a full range of easy-to-use and competitively priced financial services for private individuals, corporates and organisations. Outside its home markets, Swedbank operates in Denmark, Finland, Norway, Western Russia, Luxembourg, Ukraine, US, China and Japan.
"We opted for VASCO because of their product offering for authentication and their broad experience and knowledge in this area," said Christer Cragnell, CIO of Swedbank Group. "Customer service is of the utmost importance to Swedbank. By partnering with VASCO, we'll be able to secure our customers' assets in a flexible and cost effective way."
"We are proud that Swedbank partnered with VASCO," said Jan Valcke, VASCO's President and COO. "Over the next two years, we will work closely together with our customer in order to offer their customers user friendly, accessible and secure e-banking applications."
