Thomson Financial, an operating unit of The Thomson Corporation (NYSE: TOC, TSX: TOC) and leading provider of information and technology solutions to the worldwide financial community, today announced significant enhancements to Thomson ONE for Institutional Equities through its Thomson Connect suite of communication and collaboration tools.
These include a unique Contacts Directory containing over 80,000 global financial professionals, and a Capture capability that allows users to automatically select any content from Thomson ONE and send to clients and prospects for discussion and analysis.
The Contacts Directory is a searchable database managed by more than 50 Thomson data analysts from the same team responsible for the renowned Nelson Directories. The analysts comb the global financial marketplace for details and background on financial professionals to create a directory that is unrivalled in depth and quality. Details, including name, firm, responsibilities and contact information, are added to the directory whether or not the individual is a Thomson Financial subscriber, unlike other directories that typically limit coverage to paying clients. Now, Thomson ONE users in institutional equities can effortlessly search for potential prospects and contacts to identify, build and service a book of business.
The Capture capability allows the Thomson ONE institutional equity user to seamlessly share content and ideas with counter parties and clients. Any content, whether chart, news, price screen, or other, can be "captured" using a single mouse-click. Capture then displays a thumbnail of each image, several of which can be automatically embedded into a new Outlook or Notes email. It's possible for the user to add their own content to supplement the Thomson ONE screens, address the email using the Contacts Directory or their own Address book and share this rich insight with prospects and clients.
The Contacts Directory and Capture features are part of Thomson Connect, Thomson Financial's communication and collaboration strategy, comprising a series of tools and capabilities embedded throughout its market leading information and solution offerings. These capabilities enhance the Thomson ONE user's ability to connect and collaborate with clients and counter-parties, resulting in improved client servicing, and increased order flow and business opportunities.
