Fraud Management Technologies Pty Ltd has announced the completion of its corporate name change to FMT Worldwide Pty Ltd.
The new name more effectively depicts the company's frontline middleware technology, which delivers significantly more than fraud management. Simply stated, FMT Worldwide's solutions add agility and help enhance and secure Internet applications.
The release of FMT Octopus version 4.0 also was announced today. FMT Octopus is a middleware plug-in that wraps itself around Web applications. It unobtrusively empowers organisations to measure, manage and control both application and user experiences.
JAVA-based FMT Octopus is already proven as a fraud management solution. With version 4.0, it is now unleashing its powerful capabilities toward helping e-businesses bolster application functionality, mitigate risks, improve online security and enhance marketing. The contextually aware solution dynamically adds flexibility to Internet applications to achieve their full potential.
"Agility in applications is critical," said Vice President and Gartner Fellow Massimo Pezzini. "By unobtrusively controlling applications and accessing more data, organisations can intelligently customise online user experiences and quickly respond to changing e-business requirements."
"Using a platform that lessens the burden on IT resources and improves business change timelines is essential," said FMT Chief Executive Officer Kostas Siourthas. "By making applications more agile and less static, businesses not only have the ability to better control their online security, compliance and customer experience - they also gain a strong competitive edge."
"FMT Octopus' easy integration with third-party solutions enables our customers to enjoy a painless and quick adoption of services and extensions they'd otherwise struggle to deliver on time and budget," said FMT Chief Technology Officer Bjarne Matzen.
For example, with FMT Octopus installed organisations can quickly implement risk mitigation strategies for potential new customers during a tough credit market. Or, update business po policies and processes as soon as they are created. In addition, it takes just minutes to add new features and functions to differentiate products in commoditised markets.
Embedded in a front-end e-application server, FMT Octopus' patented architectural position provides access to previously unattainable Internet information.
Using a patented preprocessing filter, the solution examines online customer requests both before - and after - they enter an application. This allows organisations to access all data contained in every request (including IP address, browser information and more).
Combined with other information (such as geo location lookups, blacklists and customer past behaviour), FMT Octopus makes a real-time decision. For example, it can deny a request to access an application, send an alert, ask for additional authentication, create a fraud or security case, alter branding and advertising elements or simply allow a transaction to progress.
If allowed access to an application, FMT Octopus can continue to customise user experiences as events unfold. By capturing valuable information throughout a transaction, organisations can make smarter real-time decisions without unnecessarily intruding on legitimate customers.
SOA-compatible FMT Octopus requires no APIs or code changes to existing technology assets. Installation takes a couple of hours.
