SAS UK appoints Gez Llanaj as business development manager at risk practice


SAS UK, the leader in business intelligence, has appointed Gez Llanaj as business development manager to the Risk Management Practice. Llanaj will be responsible for driving strategy and raising market awareness of SAS' Risk solutions, supporting customers in meeting operational risk and compliance requirements.

Llanaj joins SAS with over seven years of experience in the field of credit and operational risk, having worked closely with the top 50 European financial institutions addressing conformity issues with the Basel II framework and dealing with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.

"Organisations are currently on a steep learning curve with regards to meeting regulatory requirements. They face a series of challenges from data quality to a fully integrated operational risk intelligence infrastructure" said Gez Llanaj, business development manager, SAS. "The SAS 9 Platform provides true enterprise intelligence, a breakthrough to a higher level of understanding of data management, reporting and analytics capabilities."

Llanaj was formerly a senior director at Fitch Risk Management and Fitch OpVantage, where he worked with both regulators and consultancies to raise the awareness of compliance issues Europe-wide.
