Bloomberg, the leading provider of business and financial news and data around the globe, today announced that it has opened a news bureau in Berlin, Germany.
The Berlin bureau, which joins Bloomberg's German bureaux in Düsseldorf, Munich and Frankfurt, is the seventh new press office that Bloomberg has opened around the world during the past two years. The total number of Bloomberg News bureaux is now 102.
"The Berlin news bureau reflects Bloomberg's ongoing commitment to provide the most thorough real time news and data to the growing number of Bloomberg users around the world," according to Reto Gregori, Bloomberg's managing editor in Europe. "Bloomberg's exceptional beat reporter system, combined with our local-language news delivery across the globe, allows Bloomberg journalists to cover issues in depth and on site. This gives Bloomberg a quality of reporting that is unequalled."
Heather Harris, manager of Bloomberg's news team in Germany, stated, "With four bureaux in Germany, Bloomberg is exceptionally well positioned to cover this important world market."
During the past two years, Bloomberg has opened new bureaux in Ankara, Turkey; Berlin, Germany; Bratislava, Slovakia; Düsseldorf, Germany; Lagos, Nigeria; Sofia, Bulgaria and Vilnius, Lithuania. Bloomberg News has also expanded its Munich bureau and plans to open a new bureau in Cairo, Egypt in October.
