Travelex recently joined HDI in order to enhance its IT Service Desk operations across EMEA.

"HDI is the only organisation in Europe that provides a respected IT Service Management (ITSM) Best Practice initiative and globally recognised Service Desk Certification. Our membership brings us a step closer to achieving full industry endorsement for our Service Desk Analysts," comments Cherrie Pinner, IT Service Desk Manager at Travelex.

Travelex's EMEA IT Service Desk operation is based in Peterborough and employs nine front line Service Desk Analysts. It joined HDI in September 2007 to take advantage of HDI's Service Desk Manager (SDM) and Help Desk Analyst (HDA) courses.

"As the only dedicated organisation for Help Desk Analysts to provide comprehensive, relevant training and qualifications that are recognised worldwide, HDI is the best provider to support Travelex's new ITSM programme. We are looking forward to working with the HDI team in the long-term to ensure that our Analysts have the best qualifications and ITSM methodologies in place to support our Service Desks now and in the future" adds Cherrie Pinner.

Travelex is in talks with HDI regarding the attainment of Service Desk Certification for its EMEA Service Desk operation, and hopes to start the process in 2008. The company also operates Service Desks in Sydney supporting the APAC region and Toronto supporting the Americas. Together the Service Desks collaborate and align to provide support services across the globe. The ITSM Best Practice programme will be leveraged across all the Service Desk operations globally.

"We are delighted that Travelex has come on board as a new member and look forward to working with them to achieve their Service Management goals," said Barclay Rae, professional services director at HDI Europe. "HDI's specialist IT service and support qualifications and training are designed to provide organisations with the skill-set to run efficient and effective IT service andd support operations. Travelex is one of the latest of an increasing number of organisations that are joining HDI every year to take advantage of our vendor-independent expertise."
