Responsible for diversifying Syscap's customer and asset types, business offerings and geographical reach, Mellors's initial focus will be on growing Syscap as a funder as well as a broker.

With nearly 20 years' experience in the credit and finance industry, Mellors previously held the position of General Manager of the UK Broker Division at BNP Paribas Lease Group. For over a decade, Mellors has underwritten transactions for Syscap as one of his main clients.

Julian Mellors, Head of New Markets Development, says: "I have known Syscap personally for 12 years, seen the company both grow and grow up and watched it change from being a small broker to the market leader - the largest broker in IT financing."

Mellors comments on his appointment with Syscap: "My background is as a lessor. I have a lot of experience taking and managing risk, so I have a skill set which Syscap has identified it needs in order to expand and develop further. I think that there is a genuine gap in the market for a really good quality lessor. I'm not convinced that the vendor or intermediary market is that well served in terms of products, innovation and quality of service. Syscap has the mentality and culture to take on that role."
