The agreement covers all If Baltic servers used for business applications. There are 840 users of the services in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The agreement is an extension of TietoEnator's and If's earlier service agreements for Nordic countries. If aims to have the same level of service in the Baltic States as it has in the Nordic countries.

This agreement comes into force on 3 January 2008 and is valid until 31 August 2011. The current service personnel at If will transfer to TietoEnator.

Kjell Rune Tveita, CIO of If Insurance, said: "If wants to extend its cooperation with TietoEnator to the Baltics. There is a need to consolidate the server environment and locate the servers at a single data centre. The aim is to improve cost efficiency and quality, as well as to obtain a predictable cost level for coming years."

Sakari Lehtola, responsible for insurance sector customers at TietoEnator Processing & Network said: "If Insurance is a very important customer for us and we are happy to expand our cooperation to the Baltic countries. At the same time, this deal increases our share in the Baltic ICT service market and shows our Nordic customers how we can support them in their growth in the area."
