Tullett Prebon announces that it has successfully launched its Central European power platform.

This platform started trading in July 2007 and now forms an important part of Tullett Prebon's established European Power offering.

The original aim of this project was to provide clients with a Czech electricity platform, the most liquid of the Central European power markets. This has been achieved and the desk is now developing its coverage of the Central European Power markets alongside the group's expanding customer base in the region. Since the initial launch, the desk has extended its offering into the surrounding countries, most notably that of the Slovak Republic. The desk recently completed its first 'Cal 08 Seps' trade, a yearly Slovakian electricity product.

Over the coming months, Tullett Prebon plans to further expand its presence in the region. This will involve working closely with customers in Poland, Slovakia and Hungary, trading power both internally and cross-border.

Andrew Polydor, head of EMEA energy at Tullett Prebon, said: "Our expansion into the Central European region demonstrates Tullett Prebon's commitment to developing innovative products and breaking into new markets. Underscoring this growth is a team of professional, dynamic and experienced brokers with a deep knowledge of the energy markets."
