Mobile banking leader mFoundry today announced the selection of mFoundry's Spotlight financial platform by IBC Bank, the Laredo-based flagship bank of International Bancshares Corporation (NASDAQ: IBOC), one of the largest bank holding companies in Texas. IBC will leverage mFoundry's Spotlight Mobile Banking solution to provide IBC's customers with real-time, on-demand access to their IBC checking, savings and credit card accounts.
Not only will IBC customers be able to securely access account balances, but they will also enjoy comprehensive search and retrieval of their account transaction histories, the ability to transfer money between accounts, the ability to retrieve and pay their bills, and the option of searching for IBC branches and ATMs. Additionally, in an industry first, IBC will offer its mobile banking services in both English and Spanish to address its ethnically diverse customer base.
"Convenience is a critical part of a banking customer's experience," said Dennis E. Nixon, chairman of IBC's parent International Bancshares Corporation. "We're proud to expand our current convenient banking options, which include widespread branch locations and seven-day banking services, to include 24 / 7 access to accounts. mFoundry's solution offered us the most flexible and timely way to extend our convenient service to a user's mobile phone. The breadth of device and operator support was unmatched by anyone in the market, so the decision to work with mFoundry was simple."
The mFoundry Spotlight Platform is the only mobile banking solution available that provides banks with the flexibility to create a well-branded, unique experience for their customers. A bank's Spotlight application can be managed by the bank's IT staff, its professional services partners or by mFoundry's experienced development staff. With Spotlight's unique ability to perform seamless application updates, banks have the ability to proactively manage their application's look, feel, features and functionality without being forced into a homogenous technology that reduces a bank's ability to compete in today's banking industry.
"As a regional leader for banking in the Southwest, IBC Bank represents a critical market for mFoundry," said Drew Sievers, CEO and Co-Founder of mFoundry. "We are excited to work with a fast-moving financial innovator like IBC, and we are proud to offer them a unique way to deploy a secure, unique and flexible mobile banking solution."
IBC's mobile banking solution will launch in Q1 of 2008 on all major U.S. mobile operators.
