DataSynapse, the global provider of application virtualisation software, today announced an alliance with KCI, a global provider of IT solutions and customer-oriented services with more than 30 years experience in the financial sector. KCI will resell DataSynapse solutions in Korea, bringing the latest grid and application virtualisation technology to Korean businesses.

By teaming with DataSynapse, KCI will be able to provide its customers with extensive and rapid benefits across application and infrastructure environments, such as improved resiliency and application performance, reduced costs, a move to guaranteed application service level agreements (SLAs) and improved time-to-market.

"Virtualisation will see greater traction as organisations seek to address the ever-pressing need to create more value out of technology investments, to drive efficiency through greater utilisation; keeping up with business expansion and changes, while keeping an eagle eye on costs and total cost of ownerships (TCOs)," says Daphne Chung, research manager, Asia/Pacific System Infrastructure and Middleware Software Research, IDC.

"Grid computing and virtualisation have become a standard technology globally. Korean companies are known for their quick adoption, and therefore we expect the uptake to be very swift in this market," said James Shin, managing director, DataSynapse Asia. "Many companies in Korea have reported suffering from an unstable IT infrastructure that lacks dynamism and does not meet business needs. With this agreement, DataSynapse and KCI are providing important access to the latest grid and virtualisation technologies that address these issues."

"Our reputation and track record in Korea is based on our long-term customer relationships and commitment to quality. Our belief in this alliance means our customers can trust that DataSynapse's grid and virtualisation technology is best-of-breed," said Mr. Hyeong-Ahn Kwon, president & CEO, KCI. "We already know our clientele is starting to consider deployment of virtualisation technology. By aligning with an established player such as DataSynapse, which is also the fastest-growing provider of virtualisation solutions, we will maintain our strong reputation in the financial services sector."
