Vasco Data Security International, (Nasdaq: VDSI), the leading software security company specializing in authentication products, today announced that it will officially introduce its APACS-compliant Digipass smart card reader family to an audience of British bankers during the company's London Banking Summit on October 18.

APACS (Association for Payment Clearing Services) is the UK trade association for payments and for those institutions that deliver payment services to customers.

Digipass 830 combines all VASCO's smart card reader functionalities, such as e- signature calculation, with EMV-CAP compliance (Europay-Mastercard-Visa Chip Authentication Program), 3D Secure Internet Payment Authentication. The product meets the APACS user interface requirements such as an adapted key pad and a specific form factor for the device's LCT screen.

Digipass 840 has the same functionalities as Digipass 830, with an embedded speech module, allowing blind and visually impaired customers to have the same level of secure access to a bank's or e-commerce shop's applications as other users. With Digipass 840, VASCO proves once again that accessibility is far more than brick and mortar.

"By making our reader family APACS-compliant, VASCO proves its dedication to winning the U.K. market," said Jan Valcke, VASCO's President and COO. "During our London Banking Summit, we'll show to a large audience of British bankers that we are their natural authentication partner. As the Full Option, All- Terrain authentication company we are able to offer a wide variety of client authentication products based on one and unique platform."
