Amex names Patricia Rado president and COO

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) announced today the appointment of Patricia Rado as President and Chief Operating Officer.

Ms. Rado, the former Vice President, Controller and Chief Accounting Officer of Public Service Enterprise Group Inc. (PSEG), will be responsible for managing the operations and growth of Amex's businesses.

Ms. Rado, who retired from PSEG in January, 2007, is a former independent governor of the Amex Board of Governors. She served as Chair of the Audit Committee, member of the Finance Committee and member of the Executive Committee. Most recently, she chaired an independent task force that reviewed technology issues at the Exchange.

"Patricia Rado is an enormous talent with years of experience and leadership in the financial industry and in public energy companies," Neal Wolkoff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. "The Amex is continuing to undergo a transformation and build its businesses in a new market structure. Pat is the ideal person to bring on board as we move forward in implementing our strategic plans and growing our business units in a rapidly evolving market environment."

Ms. Rado received a B.S. in Accounting from Central Connecticut State College and an M.B.A. with a concentration in Computer Information Systems from the University of New Haven. She is a certified public accountant and a 1997 graduate of the Harvard Advanced Management Program. From 1998 through 2006, she was a Trustee of the Board of the College of New Jersey. She is the immediate past Chair of the Board of Trustees and served as Chair of the Audit Committee and member of the Finance and Construction Committee. Ms. Rado serves on the Board of Trustees of the Newark Museum Association and chairs its Human Resources Committee. She is also a founding member of Safe Haven of Greater Waterbury, a domestic violence and rape crisis agency, and served as a member of the Advisory Council for the Chamber of Commerce of the Princeton Area.
