Innovative Card Technologies (NASDAQ:INVC), developers of the breakthrough ICT DisplayCard security device for e-banking, e-commerce and data access, today announced that Underwriters Laboratories (UL), a leading global product safety testing organization, approved the ICT DisplayCard as meeting UL standards.

UL has more than 110 years' experience developing safety standards and testing products, having become a recognized symbol of safety in homes throughout North America.

"We tested the ICT DisplayCard materials for potential risks and determined that when disposed of properly, the materials meet UL safety, restricted substances, and electromagnetic compatibility standards," said John Drengenberg, manager of consumer affairs for UL. "As with all products bearing the UL Mark, consumers can be assured the card has been rigorously tested."

Innovative Card Technologies plans to display the UL Mark, a widely recognized consumer, industrial, and commercial safety symbol, on the back of ICT DisplayCards distributed in the United States. Cards distributed internationally may also bear the UL mark. The testing process, which began more than 12 months ago, evaluated the authentication device for health risks from destruction of the card, ingestion of components by pets and children, and skin contact with the lithium inside the card's battery. Safe disposal instructions for the ICT DisplayCard can be found at incardtech.com.

"We are pleased to have completed UL's exhaustive consumer testing program, and to have the ICT DisplayCard officially certified as safe for widespread consumer distribution," said Steven R. Delcarson, InCard Technologies CEO and President. "In addition to UL certification, the ICT DisplayCard is European Conformity (CE)-approved and has passed US Environmental Protection Agency testing for disposal in municipal landfills. We are eager to get ICT DisplayCards in the hands of consumers and to add an extra layer of security to their online financial transactions."
