Cryptomathic hires payments expert David Dix

Cryptomathic, the leading provider of e-security solutions, has appointed EMV and payments expert David Dix to its UK team based in Cambridge.

David, who previously worked for First Data International, joins Cryptomathic as Electronic Payments Expert and supplements Cryptomathic's EMV issuing knowledge and solutions with his extensive expertise in the retail banking sector, particularly card issuance.

David has vast experience of reviewing solution designs for both internal and issuing clients in the functional areas of EMV, card personalisation, PINs, collections, risk and fraud. At Cryptomathic, he will focus on developing the company's offerings into new areas of payment, in addition to emerging payment technologies such as contactless and mobile.

Commenting on his new role, David says: "I worked closely with Cryptomathic while at First Data International and have always considered the company very knowledgeable in its field of expertise. I'm happy to be joining a team of such highly regarded and energetic professionals. I'm also looking forward to the challenge of expanding my knowledge beyond security in the payments industry and applying it to dynamic and high growth markets such as mobile and ePassport."

Prior to First Data International, David held various business and systems analyst posts at Oberthur Card Systems and NatWest Bank. He has a Masters in Physics from the University of Essex and currently holds an NCC certificate in Systems Analysis, an ISEB certificate in Software Testing and a PRINCE 2 Foundation certificate.
