From this location, David will lead a team responsible for delivering Reuters collaboration and communication tools and services across Asia, Europe and the Americas. These include products like Reuters Messaging, the cutting edge instant messaging product for financial services professionals.

Since early 2003, David and his team have transformed Reuters Messaging into a valuable professional IP communications network by connecting Reuters Messaging with other communities and by enabling Reuters users to reach more than 200 million users worldwide. David has been recognized by CNET and the securities' market as a thought leader for his achievement in establishing instant messaging interconnectivity between AOL, MSN Messenger and Yahoo Messenger services and creating the first secure inter-company chat room facility tailored to financial services. This connectivity is only available through the Reuters Messaging tool set.

David Gurlé, Executive Vice President, Global Head of Reuters Communication Services said: "This move reflects a belief that the Asian markets are quickly becoming the growth engine for the next phase of development for RCS and will allow us to better leverage the talent pool and innovation potential of the region. It is also very much in line with Reuters overall business strategy for the region."
