To further drive its growth in the region Diebold has appointed Mark Burns as software sales manager, EMEA West and the latest addition to its 25-strong UK team. In this newly-created role Burns will be responsible for managing sales of the company's innovative software offerings, which includes introducing its new cutting-edge Agilis EmPower ATM application software to market.

Burns comes to Diebold with a wealth of experience in open system software and ATM technology. In the past six years he has held senior EMEA-wide sales positions at ATM application software manufacturers Level Four and Diebold-owned Nexus Software. Prior to this he spent 12 years at Philips in senior sales and marketing roles across several of the company's IT divisions, both in the UK and Vienna, Austria.

On his appointment, Mark Burns said; "The dynamics of the ATM market are becoming increasingly sophisticated with exciting developments such as open systems, enhanced ATM capabilities and the growing demand for branch transformation and outsourcing. It's exciting to be part of an organisation that meets the needs of this challenging market through innovations such as the EmPower software platform."

Hans Hendriks, Director of Sales for Diebold EMEA West commented; "Mark joins Diebold with a wealth of experience in the ATM open software space, and a proven track record in business development. As we continue our EMEA expansion and enhance our presence in the UK, Mark will be a real asset, particularly as we increase our focus on the software side of our business."
