Standard Life renews Metropolitan Area Network contract with Thus

THUS plc today announced that it has renewed and extended its contract with Standard Life to supply its Wide Area Data network. Standard Life based its decision to renew on a range of factors including cost effectiveness and quality of service; but key to the extension of the contract was the reliability of THUS' network.

Running business critical data applications over THUS' network Standard Life required a capability to deliver a consistent and ongoing standard of service from its telecoms infrastructure. It was essential that the infrastructure never fell short of excellence in order to ensure that Standard Life could deliver on its aim of providing total customer satisfaction. Last year overall THUS delivered 100% actual service reliability exceeding client expectations and ensuring an enthusiastic response to extending the contract.

THUS provides Standard Life with a high speed, high resilience, open fibre network connecting all eight of their major sites in Edinburgh supporting business continuity for some of the company's business critical applications such as customer database management and financial control. In addition to the open fibre network, THUS supplies leased-lines and manages and maintains Standard Life's bespoke voice requirements.
