Hypercom Corporation (NYSE: HYC) today announced the appointment of Michel Sohrabi to the newly created post of Vice President, Marketing and Business Development - Hypercom EMEA.
Sohrabi will join the company on August 28, 2007, and is expected to play a key role in implementing Hypercom's business plan, focusing on high growth market segments in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He will report to Kazem Aminaee, Managing Director, Hypercom EMEA.
Mr. Sohrabi joins Hypercom from Wavecom, where he served as Security & Payment Business Development Director for the past two years. He has also held responsible sales, marketing and business development positions with Ingenico Group and COM One Group.

About Michel Sohrabi
Mr. Sohrabi has more than 21 years of experience in wireless data transmission, security and networking, a full 10 years of which are devoted to the electronic payments industry. In his most recent position with wireless communications solutions leader Wavecom, he led the company's entry into the security and payment M2M market and generated increased market share.
Previously, Mr. Sohrabi held several posts at Ingenico Group. As Business Unit Director of Network Communication Products, he initiated a new product distribution strategy, established a network of international distributors and negotiated contracts with key customers. As Product Marketing Director, he defined the Group's countertop and wireless product strategy. As Business Development Director for Ingenico IVI USA, he started that company's mobile payment business in the US.
Mr. Sohrabi also served as General Manager of COM One Group, a European OEM wireless modem manufacturer.
Mr. Sohrabi holds a Master's degree in Marketing from Washington University located in Annandale, Virginia and a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Orsay in France.
