Eurobase Banking Solutions, a division of the Eurobase International Group, is today launching RiskFree, its new advanced risk management system and best-of-breed value at risk (VaR) solution.

RiskFree, which is offered as a standalone product or integrated with Siena, Eurobase's best of breed front and middle office system, is also compatible with third party transaction management systems. It is integrated into the bank's existing infrastructure to calculate VaR based on all transactions and cashflows.

The VaR number calculated by RiskFree, can be accessed by users throughout an organisation at any point in time. Its browser-based interface allows banks to view critical limit, management and analytical reports. Being 100% web-enabled, it runs over the organisation’s intranet and offers portfolio and user related settings selections as well as VaR calculations.

RiskFree can help organisations to decide on the most appropriate VaR model, as it offers back testing based upon Riskmetrics, historic and Monte Carlo simulations. RiskFree enables organisations to back-test the VaR model as suggested by the Basle Committee and is also able to perform stress testing and scenario analysis.

Silke Zimmermann, Sales Manager at Eurobase Banking Solutions, says: "Organisations that are looking to implement the VaR concept to understand, measure and control their market risk throughout their enterprise, will find RiskFree well positioned to meet their requirements. As part of the Eurobase product suite, RiskFree will enable us to offer full risk management functionality to the market as well as a stand-alone comprehensive risk solution that can be integrated into existing IT environments."
