Ingenico, a supplier of transaction and secure payment solutions, today announced the appointment of Jacques Stern as Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Ingenico has benefited from Jacques Stern's expertise on its Board of Directors since April 2005. After an acknowledged recovery starting in 2005, which helped the company regain the confidence of the markets and investors, Ingenico is initiating a new stage in its development and intends to win recognition of its expertise in the payment terminals market. The appointment of a widely respected personality in security and cryptology such as Jacques Stern will benefit Ingenico's core business and should further contribute to this new dynamic.
Jacques Stern is a graduate of the Ecole Normale Superieure (ENS). He is currently professor at ENS and Director of the Computer Science Laboratory. An expert in cryptography, he has made over 100 contributions to scientific reviews and has published a book entitled "La science du secret" (The science of secrecy).
Jacques Stern is a Chevalier (Knight) of the Legion d'Honneur and was awarded the CNRS Gold Medal in 2006.
