Bear Stearns Broker-Dealer & Investment Advisor Services (BDIAS) today launched BearVIEW - a new integrated web portal that includes extensive software-like features designed for investment professionals.
Quickly and securely accessed through the Internet, BearVIEW is the new gateway for broker-dealers and investment advisors to access accounts as well as Bear Stearns' broad range of risk measurement, investment planning, trading and wealth management tools.
"BearVIEW's ease-of-use and robust functionality represent a significant step forward for our technology platform. With BearVIEW, broker-dealers and investment advisors can check real-time holdings and be just a click away from the wealth of Bear Stearns management tools and research," said John Tyers, senior managing director and co-head of BDIAS for Bear Stearns. "Whether you're a broker-dealer, an RIA, or a firm registered as both, you now have a feature-rich, integrated workstation using the very latest in web technology," added Joe Triarsi, senior managing director and co-head of BDIAS for Bear Stearns.
BearVIEW offers smoother integration and sharing of information across a broad range of features. It includes quick access to contact lists, real-time holdings, positions and balance information through simplified, right-click functionality. BearVIEW also streamlines the money transfer process and gives clients the ability to choose from over 70 currencies. Market data, quotes and charts are also available on the customizable BearVIEW homepage.
BearVIEW leverages innovative Ajax technology - TIBCO General Interface - which provides users with extensive software-like features that can be instantly accessed through a web browser.
"Bear Stearns is among the first users of rich Internet applications in the financial services market. Today's announcement further demonstrates their commitment to technological innovation," said Kevin Hakman, director, General Interface Product Marketing, TIBCO.
"Our clients have come to expect increased efficiencies and powerful features from our technology and BearVIEW is no exception. With this release and planned future releases, our clients will begin to interface with their clearing or custody firm at an entirely new level," said Rich Cancro, managing director and head of product development for BDIAS. "Feedback from our broker-dealer and investment advisor clients will continue to drive our efforts as we further enhance BearVIEW."
The BearVIEW launch is part of a larger strategy at Bear Stearns BDIAS to invigorate its technology platform. Last month, BDIAS announced that two top IT executives were hired to lead a new BDIAS technology team. They are actively recruiting in an effort to further grow the team.
