mPoria, a provider of mobile commerce solutions for retailers, has integrated PayPal’s automated mobile payment service into its GoMobile! m-commerce platform.
PayPal will be the third-party provider and mobile commerce payment mechanism within GoMobile!, acting as a mobile web wallet that enables consumers to pay for merchandise purchased over their mobile phone using a credit card, banking account or stored balance on their PayPal account. In doing this, more than 236 million wireless subscribers across the U.S. will have the convenience and security of making retail purchases anytime, anywhere using their cell phone.
According to Dan Wright, CEO and co-founder of mPoria, "Both retailers and consumers receive tremendous benefit from the combination of these technologies. mPoria holds a leadership position in the m-commerce segment and working with PayPal -- a global leader in online and mobile payment solutions, provides an outstanding opportunity for merchants using GoMobile! to offer easy and secure checkout capabilities to one of the largest and most active purchasing communities on the Mobile Web."
PayPal's mobile payment technology will be integrated within the mPoria GoMobile! platform and receive prominent positioning when users purchase retail goods from merchants with mobile shopping sites powered by mPoria. This added functionality allows retailers to offer customers an instant, secure mobile payment option, enhances their overall m-commerce offering and facilitates additional sales.
