A wholly-owned subsidiary of Transaction Network Services, Inc., based in the USA, TNS (UK) is one of the leading players in the UK transactions market providing network expertise to the banking and retail sectors, as well as tailored processing solutions from its systems operations centre in Welwyn Garden City. With a host of services including merchant processing and ATM processing TNS has rapidly become a leading network service provider in the card processing and dial-up ATM markets in the UK.

TNS has implemented Aconite's comprehensive suite of EMV solutions – EMV Transaction Enabler and EMV Script Processor - to deliver a dynamic and cost effective migration strategy for EMV compliance. The infrastructure has enabled TNS to provide full EMV authorisation processing and to generate and deliver EMV Scripts for fraud prevention, risk management and off-line PIN services to its financial institution client base. The installation has enabled TNS to offer network and processing services that are EMV complaint well in advance of the 2005 mandate.

Aconite also provided strategic consultancy and assistance for the implementation and assisted with testing and certification support using its test tool suite, EMV Facilitator, reducing time, risk and cost.

Simon Bowden, VP Systems Operations at TNS, commented: "We selected Aconite because they offered a seamless end-to-end solution for EMV migration. We were impressed by the technical superiority of Aconite's solutions and by its specialist knowledge of EMV and script management. In the end it came down to not only the speed of the implementation but also the ease with which it was rolled out."

Mike Woods, CEO, Aconite, stated: "Dynamically managing risk can unleash the real potential of EMV which TNS can now take advantage of. TNS is a high profile leader in the transaction networks market and, as such, an excellent organisation to work with. TNS can now benefit from the ability to offer its customers EMV compliant transaction processing and authorisation well ahead of the 2005 EMV mandate."
