Tumbleweed Communications (NASDAQ:TMWD), the industry's leading pure play messaging security vendor, today announced that OB10, the leading global B2B e-Invoicing network, has gone live with its managed file transfer solution, SecureTransport.
The solution provides a single platform for OB10 to send and receive electronic invoices over a variety of open standard protocols. By viewing and managing invoices in one place, OB10 will benefit from time and cost reductions as well as more effective and secure service offerings.
Previously, OB10 managed and maintained separate solutions for the different connections used in the transfer of complex financial information between numerous trading partners. Faced with an increasing operational and management burden, OB10 required a flexible solution that could aggregate disparate technologies onto one platform and scale to meet the continued, rapid expansion of its customer base. A single platform approach would therefore help OB10 to streamline its service offerings, especially for new customers, while reducing operational costs.
As an e-Invoicing network, OB10 had a specific requirement to support AS2 for the secure and reliable transport of electronic data over the Internet. Traditionally, this required the use of costly private networks and leased lines but AS2 has now become an accepted and more cost effective means of transporting digital data over the Internet.
Following a broad solution search, OB10 selected Tumbleweed SecureTransport because it met all of its requirements, especially AS2 support. It is one of the industry's most secure managed file transfer solution for moving financial transactions, critical business files, large documents, XML, and EDI transactions over the Internet and private IP networks. SecureTransport's AS2 Engine expands the product's operability, providing secure and reliable data exchange with any AS2-certified solution, and enabling consolidation of EDI and non-EDI data exchange on a single platform. Companies such as OB10 can migrate partners and customers from expensive EDI VANs and async/bisync dial-up connections, to a low cost Internet-based managed filed transfer solution with comprehensive security, management at and reporting. Tumbleweed built support for AS2 into SecureTransport three years ago, demonstrating its commitment for market-driven, open standards.
Andrew Horton, Head of Systems at OB10, said: "Having one system in place to manage, track and audit transactions means that the simplified management equates to more efficient operations. For instance, we have been able to remove the bottlenecks in providing user support. Tumbleweed's managed file transfer solution enables us to achieve our goal of providing secure e-Invoicing services that continue to meet our customers' needs."
Soeren Bech, EMEA business director at Tumbleweed, said: "For organisations like OB10 that have built their own file transfer infrastructure, SecureTransport is a leading managed file transfer solution that simplifies the administration and management of sensitive data exchanges with a secure, easy to use flexible architecture. Unlike a homegrown infrastructure that is often unmanageable, outdated, overgrown and lacks security, SecureTransport provides a secure, easily managed file transfer solution that interfaces with an organisation's existing infrastructure investment."
