Ace Software Solutions, provider of intelligent payment and STP solutions for the financial sector, today announced that Getronics' Dutch subsidiary, Getronics PinkRoccade, the largest service bureau for payments in the Netherlands, will offer ACE's PELICAN solution to the local banking and corporate community.

The Dutch payments system is internationally recognized for its efficiency and high quality payment services offered at comparatively low costs. However, there continues to be great pressure on margins and, like most European countries, the payments market is undergoing several significant changes, not least of which is the introduction of the Single Euro Payment Area (SEPA).

Getronics in the Netherlands currently process over 100 million payments per year on behalf of its banking and corporate clients, and will migrate all payment processing onto the PELICAN platform from ACE. This will replace their proprietary in-house system. The first client will go live in September of this year with the remainder of Getronics' clients in the Netherlands following shortly afterwards, thus ensuring full SEPA compliance.

"Having analysed the available payments systems on the market, we chose ACE's PELICAN platform because of its functionality, flexibility and the availability of targeted industry-specific versions for SEPA, SWIFT and corporate connectivity. Additionally, PELICAN will give us the ability to adapt very quickly to changing market conditions and this will be demonstrated as we help each of our clients ensure technical and functional SEPA compliance," said Gerwin Brink, Solution Manager for Payment Services, Getronics PinkRoccade.

"We are pleased to be have been chosen by such a respected market leader as Getronics. The combination of the established PELICAN platform allied to the market presence and local expertise of Getronics in the Netherlands will provide an unrivalled service for companies looking to gain control over their payment processing infrastructure now and in the future," said ACE Software Solutions CEO Parth Desai.

"Our clients are increasingly looking for greater control over their payment processing and PELICAN is a key part of our strategy to address this. As the solution is designed to be implemented quickly and with no changes to existing systems, it means that we can bring rapid benefits to our clients. We look forward to rolling out PELICAN and we have great confidence that it will become a major success in the Dutch payments market," Brink concludes.
