ICE to introduce electronic Nybot futures trading

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace and soft commodity exchange, today announced the timeline for the introduction of electronically traded New York Board of Trade (NYBOT) financial futures contracts.

The contracts include the U.S. Dollar Index and foreign exchange products, and other equity and commodity indices. These futures contracts, as well as options contracts on these products, currently trade exclusively on the NYBOT floor-based open auction markets.

The test environment will be available for these products each trading day beginning this Friday, March 16, in anticipation of an April launch date. It will operate from 1:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. ET to allow independent software vendors (ISVs), market data vendors, brokers, algorithmic traders and other registered market participants time to complete system connectivity and functionality testing. The test environment will be available through ISVs, WebICE and API's, as well as on the NYBOT floor via computer terminals and handheld tablets. The April launch date will be finalized following the introduction of the testing period.

Current participants in NYBOT's electronic agriculture markets can access the test environment. New users wishing to connect to NYBOT's electronic financial and foreign exchange markets should contact the ICE helpdesk to request an electronic user agreement.
