SunGard, a leading provider of software and processing solutions for the financial services industry, today announced that ATB Financial (ATB), a leading full-service financial institution based in Edmonton, Alberta, has selected SunGard's Adaptiv 360 suite to provide the framework to capture, process and manage its derivatives portfolios.

Using SunGard's Adaptiv 360, ATB will benefit from one automated environment for risk management and straight-through processing. SunGard's Adaptiv 360 will help maximize ATB's operational efficiency throughout the company's derivatives business and help reduce the operational risks that can occur when using fragmented systems and non-automated processing.

As well as streamlining its transaction processing systems, ATB was also keen to implement a solution that could produce risk reports in a timely manner, helping ensure accurate calculations of its market and credit risk exposure. SunGard's Adaptiv 360 uses advanced real-time market and credit risk analytics to help ensure any product or asset class is reported on with minimum effort and delay.

Scott Earl, director, treasury operations settlements and control, ATB, said, "SunGard's Adaptiv team proved that they understood our need for a fully automated seamless front-to-back office solution and for risk reports. As an existing SunGard customer, we were pleased to be able to work with a vendor with whom we already have a successful relationship."

Juerg Hunziker, president of SunGard's Adaptiv business unit, commented, "ATB was looking to streamline its business processes and implement an efficient risk reporting solution to consistently monitor its market and credit exposure. SunGard's Adaptiv 360 will help ATB consolidate its technology environment, whist helping to implement more flexible and less complex processes throughout the company's risk portfolio. We are delighted to be able to provide ATB with solutions that meet the company's needs in the risk space. "
