The NASDAQ Stock Market, (Nasdaq:NDAQ) announced it has unveiled new real-time, 3-D market data products at its broadcast facility in Times Square to provide global investors with a better view on NASDAQ's electronic market.

The data products are available from our broadcast studio for the media's use and can be seen today on various business networks such as CNBC, Bloomberg TV, and Report on Business TV. These products, known in the marketplace as NASDAQ Market Analytix(sm), are currently available to professional traders and are also displayed in our studio for NASDAQ MarketSite(r) visitors. This information is unavailable from any other stock market.

The products include:
  • NASDAQ Market Velocity(sm) - This chart is a virtual representation of the activity happening pre-trade in the NASDAQ system on a given stock - measuring "potential excitement" or "electronic noise" in a stock and how aggressively traders are interacting in NASDAQ's electronic market.
  • NASDAQ Market Forces(sm) - This chart shows real-time buy and sell pressure taking place in a stock by summarizing all the information in the NASDAQ order book comparing relative share volume in the given stock.
  • NASDAQ Crosses - NASDAQ has the ability to show electronic auctions taking place on systems for the Opening and Closing of the NASDAQ market in addition to the opening of an IPO. The goal of these virtual graphics are to illustrate the electronic auction or "supply and demand" in a given stock at the Open or the Close, giving a level of predictability on where the stock will likely open or close minutes before.
