Alpha Bank orders 1300 more Verifone payment terminals

VeriFone Inc., the worldwide leader in electronic payment solutions, today announced that VeriFone International Partner Printec S.A. has been awarded a contract to supply 1,300 VeriFone Omni 3750 terminals to Alpha Bank, the Official Bank of the ATHENS 2004 Olympic Games. This latest deal brings to the total number of VeriFone terminals used by Alpha Bank, the second largest bank in Greece, to more than 16,000.

Athens-based Printec, a member of the PRINTEC Group of Companies and exclusive distributor for VeriFone in the Balkans and South East Europe, will deliver the terminals over the next two months, enhancing Alpha Bank's existing estate of 5,500 Omni 3750 countertop devices.

VeriFone has sold more than 30,000 Omni 3750 terminals in the Greek market since its launch, and has more than 100,000 VeriFone terminals currently in operation in Greece today.

The all-in-one Omni 3750 is VeriFone's best-selling payment terminal, featuring EMV 4.0 smart card certification, triple DES (3DES) PIN security and up to 6MB of memory for value-added applications. The Omni 3750 offers a future-proof solution with field-replaceable Communication and Security Access Modules (SAMs), allowing additional secure smart card applications or communications options to be deployed as and when they are required.
