VeriFone Holdings, (NYSE: PAY) today announced the launch of two new systems in the MX Solutions payment platform to the EMEA market.
The PCI PED and EMV-approved MX850 and MX830 consumer-facing systems are being debuted here. The launch follows the successful EMEA introduction of the MX870 multimedia system - the first in the MX800 Series product family, and the only large screen EMV and PCI PED-compliant payment system available in the industry.
The high performance MX800 Series offers multi-lane and specialty retailers full debit and credit payment acceptance plus sophisticated capabilities such as electronic signature capture, multimedia branding, contactless payment and PIN-based smart card acceptance.
The EMV Level 1 and 2-approved MX850 and MX830 systems will be showcased at Wincor World 2007 exhibition and conference, 30th January - 1st February, Paderborn, Germany, which is being supported by VeriFone as a Gold Partner. VeriFone's Marketing Manager for EMEA, Debbie Mitchell, will be presenting at the event ("Beyond payment", 10am, Thursday 1st February 2007).
The entry point to the MX800 Series, the MX830 is a durable consumer-activated payment system available in high resolution 16-shade grey scale, and offering core payment level functionality plus optional touchscreen and signature capture. The MX850 provides a mid-range solution, boasting 65,356-color graphics, greater memory, and a standard capacitive glass touchscreen with optional signature capture. Both systems are equipped with powerful processors for fast performance, are software upgradeable with USB memory sticks, and feature a recessed 13-key tactile key pad for secure, private PIN entry. Sharing the same platform architecture, software and peripherals of the MX870 multimedia system, the new systems deliver the most effective mix-and-match combination of payment devices to suit virtually any multi-lane retail environment.
"These latest additions to the MX800 Series provide an unbeatable combination of leading-edge functionality in an easy-to-use, customer-friendly format," said Nigel Bidmead, Managing Director foor VeriFone EMEA. "With application beyond multi-lane retail to other point-of-service environments, such as retail banking, ticketing or kiosks, we expect keen interest in the EMEA market for these systems."
