This appointment represents an expansion of NASDAQ's support for international activities. In this new position, Mr. Patterson will be responsible for the team of NASDAQ Client Directors based within the region who provide support to over 50 NASDAQ-listed companies. In addition, this team is responsible for the development of NASDAQ's listings business throughout the Asia Pacific through its offices in China, Japan and India.

Stuart Patterson reports to Janet Lewis, Vice President Corporate Client Group. Previously, Mr. Patterson was Vice President and Global Head, Business Development, for Fleet Specialist Inc. Prior to this he held a number of senior positions at the same firm.

Commenting on the appointment, Bruce Aust, Executive Vice President, NASDAQ Corporate Client Group, said: "The Asia Pacific is home to many of the world's most entrepreneurial growth companies. We are very proud of our links with the region. We are presently receiving increased levels of enquiries from Asian companies, which are interested in listing on NASDAQ. This is especially the case in China, where several companies have had their IPO on NASDAQ this year. We have also announced recently that we are reviewing the scale of our Chinese operations. Stuart's appointment will ensure that we achieve our ambitions in the Asia Pacific region as a whole by ensuring that our listed companies receive the best combination of local support and our central resources. At the same time he will direct efforts locally to further expand our business in the region."
