SGX and KRX recognise the potential benefits of an alliance between the two exchanges and the increasing need to enhance the competitiveness of both financial markets. The MOU aims to foster a closer relationship and create a platform for information-sharing. The signing of the MOU will lead to discussions on establishing a derivatives co-trading link between the two exchanges.

This agreement is in line with SGX's long term strategy of building international alliances and to serve as Asia's financial gateway.
