Metavante Corporation, the financial technology subsidiary of Marshall & Ilsley Corporation (NYSE: MI), today announced that Arkansas-based First Security Bancorp has chosen Metavante's suite of marketing automation solutions to drive customer communications efforts.

With over $2 billion in assets, First Security also employs Bankway software, a Metavante core bank processing solution.

"Understanding our customers' behaviors, preferences and preferred channels of communication were among our challenges," said Reynie Rutledge, chairman, First Security Bancorp. "We needed to define their needs and align them with our business strategies. The integrated solutions that Metavante's NuEdge product provides can help us retain our existing customers and attract new ones, plus assist with referral management, cross-selling and up-selling, to improve our bottom line."

A Bankway client since 1985, First Security is the first Metavante Banking Solutions—Bankway client to leverage Metavante's NuEdge Suite, an advanced marketing automation solution, to integrate, consolidate and segment its customer files for targeted marketing communications. With NuEdge, First Security will be able to more effectively target, cross sell and expand its customer relationships, and make better informed marketing decisions. Through enhanced integration, the NuEdge Suite brings together all critical customer, household and account information from the Bankway platform to provide the basis for marketing actions and decisions. Now, all Metavante's core processing clients can take advantage of the fully integrated NuEdge Suite either in an ASP environment or an in-house solution.

NuEdge also gives marketing staff immediate access to customer information without the need for information technology resources. As more banks market additional products designed to fit their customers' needs, this type of functionality is becoming critical.

"First Security's decision to leverage NuEdge Suite shows a growing trend in community banks to leverage CRM technology to better manage, track and build successful customer relationships in order to remain competitive in their markets," said Rachel Landrum, president, Metavante Banking Solutions—Bankway. "With the availability of NuEdge Suite for our Bankway clients, Metavante's CRM expertise is now available to help banks of all sizes improve their marketing strategies and meet their business objectives."
