Bureau van Dijk Electronic Publishing (BvDEP), the leading European electronic publisher has chosen Exchange Data International (EDI) to provide the corporate actions and dividends data feed for the latest version of OSIRIS, BvDEP's global listed company database. EDI's service was made available to OSIRIS customers on 1 June 2004.

"The partnership with BvDEP allows EDI to market its Worldwide Corporate Actions (WCA) feed to the front office corporate finance arena," said Jonathan Bloch, managing director EDI. The WCA feed is traditionally sold to back office corporate finance professionals. "Bureau van Dijk is the pre-eminent provider of data to the corporate finance marketplace," he added.

WCA is designed to take account of 52 crucial events on a daily basis, which are collated through EDI's extensive links with over 138 local exchanges. Unrivalled sources of information are verified and collated into a single delivery stream, which can be delivered directly, ensuring straight through processing of quality, relevant data for settlements or research, as well as crucial market movements. Typical information includes: AGMs, liquidations, consolidations, mergers and acquisitions.

Angus Davidson, international sales manager at BvDEP said, "The addition of another quality source to OSIRIS gives our users an even more comprehensive view on companies. Corporate actions and dividend information complements the financials and helps users get a broader view on company activity."

OSIRIS, a web and DVD-ROM service, provides detailed information on 37,000 listed and major unlisted/delisted companies around the world. Data is already provided by a number of specialist companies such as Fitch Ratings and World'Vest Base. BvDEP links these various specialist sources and provides users with both "as reported" and normalised data to facilitate cross-border searching and analysis facilitated by BvDEP's advanced software. EDI's WCA feed is available as an extra service to BvDEP's clients.
